Hey guys! Here's a STARS AW139 (C-FGJS) painted for the XRotors AW139. If you have a favourite STARS AW139 registration that you would like painted, drop me a message and I'll be happy to make it for you. KNOWN ISSUES: The windshield frame is painted a solid red and does not have a black/white continuation at the bottom. This is a paintkit limitation. The white and black aft of the base of the rotor shaft is square rather than rounded. This is texture mapping limitation. There are no sponsors on the tail. I do not have good reference photos of the tail to make the placement and logos accurate. If you find a bug or a detail that is off or wrong, please write a comment so I know to fix it. If you like my work please consider buying me a coffee. Thanks! 2. Well, 6 months later, the 2 jets are in VR beta! I have completely reworked the cockpit.OBJ file from the ground up to ensure that the jets are future-proof and won't break with coming XPlane updates (VR Updates). More info to come. Matheson
  3. Update Time! I am essentially rebuilding the cockpit.OBJ file from scratch because the default system does not permit VR manipulators. Work is progressing nicely, though. Because I am reworking the aircraft's manipulation system and cockpit.OBJ, I will need a small team to help me test that NO system functionality is lost. If you'd like to help out, please PM me. Matheson
  4. Hey guys, A quick update: the project is not dead. I've been working with XCrafts on a secondary project while this one was on hold. Because this plane uses old-fashioned 'Panel manipulators', it will be a while before I can get this out. It's not quite as simply as the other projects. Right now, both jets fly beautifully in VR. I cant wait to share them with you. Matheson

  6. Exactly. I think it would have been a lot better if it was presented as a pre-order where if you back the plane, then you get the plane free at release.
  7. VATSIM is slowly developing a CPDLC system. VATSIM has recently involved legacy P3D/FSX developers to include VATSIM's native CPDLC system into their products. I'd imagine that this would be very doable for most XPlane developers unless VATSIM shadows XPlane from this new system which is unlikely.
  8. Everyone needs to understand MilViz' point of view. MilViz makes extremely high-quality addons for P3D (an now XP). They are always at the leading edge with system depth and overall quality. As of now, I can count on 1 hand the number of addons in XP with that level of quality. Milviz is a bit different from most P3D devs and almost all XPlane devs whereas they hire full-time employees on salary to produce their products which take roughly 2 - 3 years to complete based on the global average. That years-worth of salary for around 4 developers (quoting their podcast) is not going to come from a tree or from a healthy investment. That money was opted to come from the Kickstarter. Remember that these devs don't make a whole lot of money off these products. They really only make enough to cover their development costs plus less as profit. Because of their reputation with spot-on systems, they opted to not use the Laminar FMS after it was brought up a few times in discussions. PR was a mess - a complete mess. Backers should have been ensured that they would get the plane free of charge IF they pledged more than or equal to the price of the product. Instead of this, they told some people that it would be included with the pledge and others that it was not. PR should have been handled better, perhaps with a full statement attached to the Kickstarter link which would have provided the answer to most questions and prevent the trolls from blowing it up as they did. Now because of the trolls (the vocal minority within the vocal minority), there are discussions about scrapping the XPlane project entirely. While XPlane is a relatively new platform from the eyes of legacy developers from P3D/FSX and high-quality developers from XPlane, this is normal in the P3D/FSX realm in which MilViz is apart of.

  11. This project is now on hold while I work with X-Crafts to get around a roadblock that has appeared. More info to come within a month or two.
  12. I'm not sure exactly what's going on here. I took a look at it with my VIVE and I can't recreate the issue. Perhaps someone with an Odyssey+ can chime in and share their experience as well. As for the viewpoint being off, it is based on personal preference. I prefer it that way, but everyone has their own taste. That is an easy adjustment to get it where you'd like. Simply edit the XYZ coordinates in the VRConfig file. Cheers, Matheson
  13. Thanks for the kind words! What exactly are WMA Controllers? Are they the factory controllers shipped with the VIVE/Rift? It works great for me with no teleport or hotspot issues, so I'll see if I can recreate it. Are you running any plugins or add-ons alongside the plane?

  15. Hi guys, A quick update: Progress on the EJets is currently still stalled. I am working closely with X-Crafts who graciously gave me the dataref ID's for the remaining knobs that are to be tuned. I am currently on vacation, but work should resume mid-late this week. I'm very excited about this project. The EJets work phenomenally in VR. Cheers, Matheson

Hey guys! Here's a WestJet 767-300ER (C-FWAD) painted for the FlightFactor 767-300ER. This paint is fully colour corrected to the real plane (achieved using personal photos in a hangar environment). Please note that the RIGHT winglet text is reversed. This is due to a limitation of the texture mapping and cannot be fixed. This paint was made entirely out of hand-crafted vector technology which ensures the highest quality possible. The tail was constructed out of over 1 thousand hand-placed circles which make up a gradient-like effect. This plane uses custom textures to ensure the highest standard of realism to the real plane. The default textures portray that the plane was flown from the graveyard a day earlier. WestJet keeps their aircraft in stunning condition, thus custom textures were created to represent this. If you have a favourite WestJet 767-300ER registration that you would like painted, drop me a message and I'll be happy to make it for you. This paint was designed to be used with the winglet option enabled. This paint was designed to be used with GE engines. Hey guys! Out of popular demand, here's a WestJet 737-8 (C-FNWD) with the "New Livery" painted for the 737-800X (Zibo) version 3.31+. This paint is fully colour corrected to the real plane (achieved using personal photos in a hangar environment). This paint was designed to be used with the Ultimate Team's 737 MAX. This paint will be updated to the MAX on the day of it's release. Because of this, some aspects of the paint may not be 100%. The MAX sports a new vertical stabilizer leading edge which removes any possibility for this paint to be properly worn on the NG. This paint was made entirely out of hand-crafted vector technology which ensures the highest quality possible. The tail was constructed out of over 1 thousand hand-placed circles which make up a gradient-like effect. If you have a favourite WestJet 737-8 registration that you would like painted, drop me a message and I'll be happy to make it for you. 19. Hi guys, Joe has worked on and released the SimVRLabs mod for the excellent PBY Catalina freeware by Hydroz Freeware: This is the SimVRlabs mod for the PBY-5A Catalina "Actual 9767" Variant only. This excellent freeware aircraft can be downloaded here: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/38316-consolidated-pby-5a-catalina-9767/ I recommend you grab the PBR mod by Silentdark 666 here: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/41004-pby-5a-catalina-pbr-mod/ This SimVRlabs VR mod went beyond the scope of the usual VR work. I made some actual custom upgrades to the cockpit to allow for excellent VR compatibility: - Autopilot made to always show - heading and altitude hold only - Autopilot disconnect button (red button to the left of autopilot) - Panel png size doubled (2048 x 2048) to allow for new GPS's and future Avitab integration - Actual Laminar GNS 530 and GNS 430 brought in and configured for full functionality - Added heading bug for autopilot heading mode (turn the autopilot knob) - Added Gyro Sync button for directional gyro (click the gyro knob) - Remade all the buttons on the transponder - X-pad hidden Then I performed the usual SimVRlabs treatment: - Throttles, Props, Hotspots, Knobs, Switches, Yoke, etc... Things that still don't quite work right: - The ignition switch will not "hold" with VR controllers. I've tried many workarounds, but I believe I'm fighting against some SASL code that's preventing it from happening. So, for now, when doing the actual ignition start, I'm doing it in 2d with the mouse. I'll continue to try and track down a solution. - Would like to add a "needle" for the aileron trim gauge. Right now you can't tell when your trim is centered, except for feel. - I still have no idea where the parking brake is for this thing, so for now I've just bound it to one of my VR controller's buttons until I can get one brought in and properly modeled/animated (which I can do if I can get some intel). This took a very long time to do, many more hours than anticipated. Each Catalina variant is a massive undertaking to re-work (because each cockpit is so different). Would like to do the water bomber variant, as well as the modern variant in the future.
  20. Hi Guys, Joe has finished work on the Carenado A36 Bonanza: This aircraft was plenty different to work on because of the custom Aspen 1000 system, but I got it working perfectly with some digging through code and some hide/show sledgehammering. A lot of this aircraft was 2d panel based, so there is a whole lot of custom manipulators going on. Highlights include: - All GPS, Autopilot, ADF, Transponder, and Aspen 1000 system buttons, knobs, and switches brought in and tuned (over 75 custom manipulators). - Static elements (flags/chocks) clickable from outside the aircraft for a walkaround. - Hotspots in every seat. - Panel Brightness switch made smooth for dim-able adjusting instead of all-on / all-off. - All the usual SimVRlabs adjustments and tuning
  21. UPDATE: Hey guys, A quick update about the Embraer progress: Currently, the E-195 is my testing platform. This means that any new work that is done is on the E-195 FIRST, tested, refined, and then moved to the E-175 as they are almost identical under the hood. Please keep it in mind that when I reference the plane(s) unspecifically, I am always talking about the E-195 and cannot guarantee the E-175 to be functionally identical on release. As of now, both Embraers are about 50% complete. I have tuned about 75% of the knobs and switches to work flawlessly in VR, but I have run into a problem with the remaining 25% which requires X-Crafts to help out. Because of this, work on both jets are minimal or stalled completely until January 8/9. I have gone ahead and disabled all functions useful in 2D, but annoying in VR: PFD Popup MFD Popup EICAS Popup FMS Popup Yoke Hide/Unhide So far, the manipulators that have been tweaked to work in VR are: All MCP functions All lighting/dimmer knobs Flaps with detents Speedbrake with detent Throttles with detents Various teleport hotspots (Including F/O seat) Radio Knobs Most overhead knobs All overhead switches Engine control guards Windows Cockpit door Arm rests All 3 MCDU's As of now, the only things left to do are: Finish overhead knobs with X-Crafts' help Clean up green VR manipulation zones Bring the yoke into VR Experiment with thrust reversers, side menu, and cabin door(s) although none of these is mandatory for release. I will try to bring the sidebar menu into VR, but that will either be a hit or miss if it works. Cheers,
  22. UPDATE: The plane is now a little over half done. Almost every knob and switch has been tuned or overhauled to better suit VR. Because some have been overhauled, the mod will make the planes difficult to use in 2D. The 2D functionality is not gone, however some of the manipulators will not be as intuitive as they once were in the vanilla installation. There is nothing that I can do about this. X-Crafts have approved the mod, meaning that it will for sure be released without any complications. (The VRconfig and cockpit.OBJ will be installed normally) I am very excited to bring these 2 awesome aircraft into the VR world. I hope you are just as excited as I am. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Cheers,
  23. Hey guys, I have begun working on the X-Crafts Embraer E-175 and E-195. This update tweaks nearly everything to work better in VR in a more 'intuitive' way. So far, the manipulators that have been tweaked to work in VR are: -All MCP functions -All lighting/dimmer knobs -Flaps with detents -Speedbrake with detent -Throttles with detents -Various teleport hotspots (Including F/O seat) The update will include the usual array of SImVRLabs goodies. Disclaimer: This is not an officially supported update by the developer, so don't expect support from him on it. If you need help you can always ask me or just revert to your backed up folders. If you lose the old files and just want to reset everything just reinstall the aircraft.
