  1. This mod was created by Father-Son Flight Simulator, a member of the SimVRlabs club. The file is provided free of charge and will be maintained here on Threshold SimVRlabs club from the point of this posting as hobby time permits! This file is a VR Conversion of the Lockheed SR-71 by Laminar Research, which has been made available to the community. This conversion project was done live in a series of 3 livestreams as a means of teaching the process for creating these mods. Note: these changes were done with respect to maintaining 2D functionality as much as possible. IMPORTANT: This mod was created during release X-plane 11.32, is not officially supported by Laminar Research. It is possible in future X-plane updates you may need to re-apply this mod, or if LR significantly updates the SR-71 in the future it may no longer work. Updates will be considered as time permits. Items Changed in this VR Conversion: - Pilot's teleport hot-spot added - All knobs changed to rotational manipulators rather than drag_axis - All knobs tuned for a comfortable rotational speed - Added a center grab point for the Throttles, allowing you to control both levers at the same time - You can now grab the Joystick with your VR controller (or Mouse in 2D). The Joystick is tuned for VR controller movement. - Left/Right switch guards (right forward panel) now work using a drag_rotate manipulator and can be latched with the VR controller Installation: 1. It is recommended to back up the original SR-71_Cockpit.obj file (rename it to SR-71_Cockpit-original.obj) 2. unzip the VR conversion file into the aircraft folder directory and allow replacements if requested. Special thanks to SimVRlabs for allowing me to host the training on their behalf, and for the support in creating the live workshops. You can find the workshop series recordings (sessions 1 - 3) explaining how to mod these features at: Lockheed SR-71 VR mod.rar
  2. This mod was created by Father-Son Flight Simulator, a member of the SimVRlabs club. The file is provided free of charge and will be maintained here on Threshold SimVRlabs club from the point of this posting as hobby time permits! This file is a VR Conversion of the Republic SeaBee RC3 by Denis Designs, which has been made available to the community for free at X-plane.org. You must first install this plane and then apply the conversion. Note: these changes were done with respect to maintaining 2D functionality as much as possible. KNOWN BUGS: - The HSI does not work upon initial load of the plane - to get around it just reload the plane once you have your engines started (Menu: Developer/Reload the current aircraft and art) - The transponder display, when on, only shows alt mode regardless of being in standby, on, or alt mode. NOTE: The 2D menus and the popup screen with GPS/Autopilot are not supported with this VR Modification Items Changed in this VR Conversion: - 7 teleport hotspots added at various points of interest in and outside of the aircraft. (Pilot, copilot, left & right passengers, bow door, fuel spout, and engine cowl) - All doors changed to toggle manipulators instead of drag_axis manipulators - All knobs changed to rotational manipulators rather than drag_axis - All knobs tuned for a comfortable rotational speed - Push to sync heading bug added on the heading bug knob on the HSI - Throttle, Prop, Mixture, Carb Heat, and Parking brake/Anchor changed to manipulate in the Z-axis - Magnetos now work on a rotational manipulator - You can now grab the yoke with your VR controller (or Mouse in 2D). Pilot side yoke is tuned for VR controller movement. (You can still toggle the pilot and/or copilot yokes) - Fuel fill is changed to a rotational manipulator instead of a drag_axis - Fuel cap is changed to a toggle manipulator - Elevator trim lever now works using a drag_rotate manipulator and can be latched with the VR controller - drag_axis for the electric elevator and rudder trim buttons path lengths reduced by 50% Installation: 1. Must have the Republic SeaBee RC3 (XP11) installed into your aircraft folder (See link above; Just download and unzip it into your "....\X-Plane 11\Aircraft\Extra Aircraft" folder.) 2. It is recommended to back up the original SeaBeeRC3_cockpit.obj file (rename it to SeaBeeRC3_cockpit-original.obj) 3. unzip the VR conversion file into the aircraft folder directory and allow replacements if requested. Special thanks to Denis Designs (dden) for providing this plane to the community and acknowledging my request to make this modification for VR. A very special thanks to Joe K. @ SimVRlabs for reviewing the work in progress and offering advice on the project. You can find a Demo Video explaining and highlighting these features at: seabeeRC3 VR Conversion.zip
  3. Probably! It can probably be done by moving the green hotspot yoke model into the same hide/show animation tree as the drawn yoke.... I'll have to remember to use that as a rule in future mods that have the hide yoke function!
  4. This mod was created by Father-Son Flight Simulator, a member of the SimVRlabs club. The file is provided free of charge and will be maintained here on Threshold SimVRlabs club from the point of this posting as hobby time permits! This file is a VR Conversion of the Lancair Legacy by Harranssor, which has been made available to the community for free at X-plane.org. You must first install this plane and then apply the conversion. Note: these changes will also fix several issues found in the 2D version! This VR conversion may be desired even if you do not utilize VR. Items Changed in this VR Conversion: - Virtually ALL buttons and knobs on the GPS, radios, and autopilot had to be rebuilt for VR - Cockpit display and light intensity knobs changed to rotation motion for VR mode and drag axis for 2D mode - Fuel and fuel adjustment switches work on the right panel in VR using rotation dial in VR mode and drag axis for 2D mode. - Fixed the Garmin SL30 knob (right side knob) to perform nav/com/obs dialing based on: Com mode, Nav mode, Navcom 1-2 select, and OBS select. Note - the inner dial was not originally modeled, so I added one. IMPORTANT: the Garmin SL30 is inseparably tied to the glass cockpit display, Hence the CDI must also be selected in the menu for the Nav you want to adjust the OBS for, otherwise the SL30's OBS dial will be locked! - Fixed the Garmin SL30 flip flop button to work in VR for all navcom mode selects based on Com or Nav mode, and Navcom 1 or 2 select. In navcom 1 mode, it will flip the com and nav standby on the GPS GS-530 in tandem. - repaired the inner and outer knobs and push functions on the GPS GS-530, these knobs now work with rotation motion in VR using the VR controller. - Autopilot knob now adjusts the heading bug instead of barometric pressure. Note: Adjust barometric pressure using the menu option buttons. - Added push to sync function on the autopilot heading knob - ALL knobs tuned for rotation dial speed for the VR controller for VR mode. - Key activates and also is tuned for VR controller rotation for mag 1, 2, both and start. - Fuel tank select changed to a rotation motion in VR and tuned. - Joysticks are now manipulated with either the mouse in 2D or with VR controller in VR mode. Copilot uses simple joystick mode, but the pilot joystick is tuned to the VR controller motion. If you are flying using VR controllers only, recommend realistic and latch mode on. - The canopy open and close lever toggle in between the seats is fixed, it's now visible and works in VR. - Created teleport locations for pilot and copilot seats. (tuned for an average height individual) Please note: In this plane you sit pretty far back as the seats are somewhat reclined. Installation: 1. Must have the Lancair Legacy installed into your aircraft folder (See link below; Just download and unzip it into your "....\X-Plane 11\Aircraft\Extra Aircraft" folder.) 2. It is recommended to back up the original Legacy_cockpit.obj file (rename it to Legacy_cockpit-original.obj) 3. unzip the VR conversion file into the aircraft folder directory and allow replacements if requested. Special thanks to Harranssor for providing this plane to the community and acknowledging my request to make this modification for VR. A very special thanks to Joe K. @ SimVRlabs for helping me overcome the technical hurdles faced during the modification project. You can find a Demo Video explaining and highlighting these features at: Harranssor's Lancair Legacy is often featured in the downloads section. Find it at: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/41357-lancair-legacy-fg/&do=download&csrfKey=e331fb60e43a20b464eeed5e20257e1d Disclaimer: This mod is not officially supported by the original aircraft designer. 5. This mod was created by Father-Son Flight Simulator, a member of the SimVRlabs club. The file is provided free of charge and will be maintained here on Threshold SimVRlabs club from the point of this posting as hobby time permits! This is my first project to give back to the community AND my first attempt at doing a VR improvement from an originally non-VR supported plane. If you load the original plane in VR mode, it works but the buttons and switches are really hard to manipulate and don't feel natural. If you enjoyed flying this plane before, in VR it will blow you away! Perfect for practicing aerial acrobatics. The file updates the work by X-Plane.org and Nils: http://nd-art-and-technology.com/ by modifying the cockpit OBJ file and adding a vrconfig file. It makes the manipulators that are already available more easy to manipulate in VR mode and adds a cockpit hotspot so you can get in and out of the plane using the teleport function. The Mod makes the following changes: - Joystick and Throttle controls are now operable with VR controllers and tuned to match VR motion controllers. The Joystick is also mouse clickable in 2D mode. - Cowl flap travel path adjusted and tuned to match VR motion controllers - Primer switch path adjusted and tuned to match VR motion controllers - Several click points have been resized and centered on the panel for the various knobs. - All knobs (radio knobs, OBS, barometric pressure, mag position, etc) have been adjusted to use a rotation motion with VR controllers and tuned for rotational speed. - Pilot teleport spot created and tuned for a person of average height. Must have the original YAK-55M for X-plane 11 installed, get it at: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/40784-yakovlev-yak-55-by-nda/&do=download&csrfKey=e331fb60e43a20b464eeed5e20257e1d INSTALLATION: 1. Install the original plane by unzipping it into your .../X-plane 11/Aircraft/Extra Aircraft folder. 2. It is highly recommended you backup the original file first: YAK-55M_cockpit.obj (Rename to YAK-55M_cockpit-original.obj) 3. Simply extract these files into the YAK-55M top folder, wherever you placed it in your aircraft folder; allow replacement of file: YAK-55M_cockpit.obj Find my Youtube Channel and video demo at: Disclaimer: This mod is not officially supported by the original aircraft designer. Please do not ask him for technical support related this modification. YAK-55M_VR Conversion.zip
