Hmmm. Maybe I'm having a different issue than the original one posted. Let me know if it's better to make a new thread.

I just recently purchased the M20 Collection through X-Aviation, so I don't think the migrating the license instructions apply to me.

I've got the RealityXP GTN 750 installed, and I can bring it up as a popup window. But I don't see how to replace the GNS 530 that's in the Ovation II with the GTN 750.

I'm reading the AFM M20R Instructions V1.0 in the directory X-Plane 11\Aircraft\X-Aviation\M20 Collection\M20R Ovation II\Documentation. On page 19 it shows that I should have a "AFM M20R" menu under Plugins, but I don't have that. Maybe that's the problem, because it looks like that's how I can toggle between the GNS 530 and the GTN 750.

My Plugins menu has these entries: Plugin Admin , Gizmo64, Reality XP GTN. Under Plugin Admin, the "M20R by AFM Simulation" is enabled.

The AFM M20R instructions on page 22 says to copy the RealityXP.GTN.ini file from the Modifications folder back one folder. For me, I don't have a Modifications folder. In the "M20R Ovation II" directory has the RealityXP.GTN.ini file already (also the RealityXP.GTN.ini file).

Oh, I see. Hover your mouse on the left side of the screen and a little tab should appear. From there, click the menu, then open "Settings". From there you should be able to switch from the GNS to the GTN for the 3D object.

    Hi,

I'm running into the same issue. One of the main reasons I bought the M20 Collection was to get the GTN750 integration.

This was fixed a while back with the latest update of the M20. If you haven't already, you will need to migrate your license (for free) to X-Aviation to access the latest version. Instructions can be found here: https://afms.im/FHLFNJ

Hi Coop - any news on when the update to fix this problem will be released?

    Thanks,
    Jim

It has been a busy week due to the holidays, its a priority for this week though, but I can't give any ETA. We may push a plugin-only "hot fix" a few days prior to a general release to get a wider testing base. Make sure to check the discord in the next few days for news of that.

    Hello,

I bought the M20 collection about a month ago and have been thoroughly enjoying it. One thing I noticed today on the Ovation II (have not tried to replicate on the III or Acclaim yet) is that when you dial up the O2 system, you lose some power from the engine (approximately 1.5 inHg). It is acting like Alternate Air in a way with the source being a hot source (whereas the Alternate Air lever doesn't appear to do anything noticeable). After looking with some data output windows, I found that the ITT (I know it's naturally aspirated) would spike a few degrees C then return to the approx amount that it originally was. Is this a bug, or is it the way the system is coded? Also, I know IRL when you pull the Alternate Static, you have a momentary rise in the Altimeter and VSI, but the Alt Static lever doesn't appear to be allowing that to happen.

Hope these help with squashing any bugs on this bird, and look forward to seeing what comes next for it!

    Josh

Yes, this is due to the revamped XP oxygen system and how our previous custom system tricked X-Plane into being able to simulate hypoxia. This will be accounted for in the V4 update when we migrate to the new oxygen system.

  5. Ah, I see - it is a simple file directory problem. Please move the AFM folder so that the path looks exactly like: X-Plane 11/Aircraft/AFM. Right now the path you have set is X-Plane 11/X-Plane 11/Aircraft/M20 3.0.3/AFM/

Just moving the AFM folder should get you back up and flying!

(note this directory dependency is being worked on so in the next version the AFM folder can be anywhere in the Aircraft directory and any subfolders within)

  6. That is definitely odd. Are you using any switch/ap external panels? I am trying to figure out what would interfere with the AP to cause it to not engage. Can you try deleting the M20R_prefs.txt file in X-Plane 11/Aircraft/AFM/M20R Ovation II and see if that stops the issue?

    Some minor things I've noticed:

Parking Brake - it would be nice to have a sound assigned to setting and releasing the parking brake.

Landing Lights - no sound associated with switches when using keyboard (when mouse operated produces clicks)

Flaps - would it be possible to have flap switch sound only activate when the flap can be operated (raised or lowered) from current position?  ie, no sound when raising flaps if they're already raised.

Autopilot Disengage - could use an AP Disengage warning.

These are being worked on with our new FMOD sound pack 🙂

  8. Hi Raller,

While the aircraft is using FMOD for the sounds, the sounds are definitely a spot for improvement. We have a new sound pack in development by my dev partner at TorqueSim - he is way better at it then I am, so expect a major sound update soon!

    Good Day,

I have a problem with the Ovation III and Acclaim. Both load fine into Xplane, but when turning on the Master switch, nothing happens. Even when hitting (shift, ctrl,E) the engine does not start. What is interesting is that the Ovation II works fine.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Faisal.

Can you upload your log.txt file located in the X-Plane 11 folder? Grab this file after loading the Ovation 3 in-sim, so it has the applicable information. Thank you!

Ok. So I reinstalled v 3.0.2 from the store. This was a downgrade as I was using the v 4.0 beta. The problem with the pilots in the cockpit is fixed. Maybe there is an issue with the beta? Should I try reinstalling version 4.0?

     John.

Yeah, reinstalling the beta should hopefully work.

  11. And responding to why it doesn't work now with XGS, I am not sure - there must have been an update on their side recently? We obviously cannot control what plugins people have installed, XGS Landing Speed is currently our only known plugin that is not compatible with the aircraft. We are working on a way to circumvent this issue, but in the meantime, there are many other free landing speed plugins that do not rely on this library (which is designed for aircraft) to function.
