VNAV won't engage

First flight, not sure what I have done wrong, but VNAV is not engaging, LNAV is working fine and I can LVLCHG to my cruise altitude ok.

 

Any ideas?

Greetings! First of all, you need to fill in the FMC weight, fuel, flight altitude, flight route (exit and arrival scheme (sid_star)). FMC will calculate the takeoff speeds by itself, they need to be activated in fmc. Also, there should be no gaps in the route itself.

I've had some trouble engaging VNAV but only right after takeoff. I press LNAV and RNAV before the take off but when Inpress CMDA the VNAV remains armes but not engades. Do I need to press N1 before pressing VNAV prior to takeoff?
