  1. Hi Igor,

you can implement custom objects. A tutorial and further description can be found here:

Your mentioned "jetways" are very unique and rare so it is probably easier to create a custom object for the scenery which requires it than creating a global object which does not really fit.

    Alright, here's another one 🙂

I'm working on some gates at PAJN and the 'attached' position of the jetway has decided to have a rotate 2 value of 272.  It wasn't connecting at all (because the limit was 88), but after setting a limit of 300 the cabin of the jetway rotated through itself to get to the 272 degrees.  I had to set the start position to be 300 degrees, so that it wouldn't spin all the way around.  It works, and looks ok, but it seems like that shouldn't be.  Why would the plugin decide that the docked position should be 272, and not -88?  (Yes, I set the lower limit to allow a value of -88 🙂 )

The door rotation problem was a bug which has been fixed in 1.0.4.

  3. Hello guys,

SAM is updated to 1.0.3 and it's a crucial update in terms of jetway operation.

We had numerous issues with incorrect docking locations on different aircrafts. 90% were correct while under some circumstances some offsets appeared. The reason was that we didn't consider the door rotation into our calculation as well as the fact that a jetway does usually not connect in the middle of the door but with a slight offset to allow the door to be opened within the rain cover of the jetway.

So in short: We recoded the animation so that it should work correctly on all aircrafts now.

Unfortunately we had to change all library jetway templates so you have to update your configurations. If you created custom jetways please change the description values to the exact ones of your object. Use your 3D editor to read out the correct numbers.

Furthermore we changed the file format of the pole VDGS objects. You can still use them as legacy objects but they won't be updated anymore. Please replace them by the new pole objects which does not require to reconfigure them in SAM.

For the already supported sceneries we created updated configurations including the changes mentioned above so they will be up to date pretty soon.

Or maybe it doesn't touch the dataref at all so that it will keep the value from the previously selected aircraft? Then it would depend on which aircraft you used in the previous flight of the same session.

Tested and confirmed. It takes the setting from the previously loaded aircraft. However that does not change anything as long as we don't get a readable dataref to access to...

  5. Hi Juan,

the plugin identifies the jetway objects by their position (coordinates). In case you change them you will loose your entire configuration. The Overlay Editor is quite outdated but should work. It might be possible that it changes the coordinates in a decimal place everytime you export the scenery. Please compare the exported .dsf files in terms of coordinates of the objects.

  6. Yeah I'm not sure how they do it in real life because there is no space for a Marshaller. He would have to stand far away from the parking position somewhere inside the terminal. So maybe this position is not being used anymore. Would need to get some input by someone who knows the real life operations on that.

  7. The jetways at Genoa are fixed so they cannot rotate. You have to park more or less precise according to the guidance to allow a connection.

Stand 401: for large aircrafts, no jetway operation

Stand 402: Works fine if you hold right next to the jetway entry.

Stand 403: for large aircrafts, no jetway operation

I just noticed that the Guidance for Stand 402 is not correct. You can replace the sam.xml in your scenery folder with the one attached until we release the next official update.

  8. Ah that might be the issue, true! To get back the default aircraft configuration simply re-install the plugin and override all files.

However as you can clearly see the jetway configuration is wrong.

in last version of this plugin in the Authoring tool>Utils>Configure door I could fix this problem, but now I could not make it.

That was actually no fix! You changed the door position of the aircraft and not the jetway itself that's why we deleted this function 😉

You have to change the measurements slightly. Play around a bit, it's not difficuilt at all.
