Creator52
Hi ! I would like to know why my xcarft e145 isn't compatible with world jetways and the sam plugin ? I attached my log file. Thanks in advance ! Log.txt
Marten@Stairport
Because the aircraft features a foldable door which would clip through the jetway. Or did they update it to have a sliding door lately? Edited November 6, 2021 by Marten@Stairport
Creator52
Yes you are correct, at the time the aircraft only has a foldable staircase door, however in the jetway compatibility page it is said that this aircraft is normally compatible with the sam plugin and world jetways. Or did I misunderstand something ? I could let the door closed and connect the jetway and it would look more realistic than opening the staircase door at a gate. Marten@Stairport
Yeah what we did is set the connection point a few meters away from the door so you could simulate jetways that are being used in connection with a stair where you can leave the jetway to the apron. There are rare cases where that's being used.
Creator52
Oh, alright but why isn't working with me then ? It's kind of weird since have the latest version of SAM (3.0.9). The jetway button (normally located at the doors of the aircraft) doesn't appear in the SAM tab. Edited November 6, 2021 by Creator52
Marten@Stairport
It only works with jetways that can go very low like the ground jetways at some US airports. Most of the usual ones won't work.
Marten@Stairport
However you can modify the door coordinates in the corresponding xml in sam/aircrafts for your needs.
Creator52
Interesting ! First, please could you give me a gate (at whichever airport) that would be able to connect to the e145 without modifing any values ? I would just like to see it in action. Then I have 2 questions: 1) To modifiy the door coordinates in the xml, with which app should I do it ? (Notepad, wordpad...). 2) I am not really familiar with coding but I understand that there are 3 coordinates for the aircraft door (x,y,z). Which one should I modifiy and which value should I enter for the E145 so that most jetways would be able to connect to the aircraft. Thank you so much for your help btw
Marten@Stairport
I just checked the aircraft configs and found out that the doors are actually set up correctly at the fuselage. Could you try to force connect a jetway in the authoring tool to see why it's not connecting?
Creator52
Hi again, How was your weekend ? So I don't know how, I didn't really change anything (maybe I was doing something wrong ?) anyways, now I am able to connect the jetway (hurayyy) however it will not fully connect to the door, it will only approach it. Is this normal ? (see the picture below, this is when the jetway completed it's command) Could I change the door values so the jetway fully connects to the door ? (seems possible) and if so what values should I enter ? Again thank you so much for your help
Creator52
Btw I use to have the same issue with the JF Bae146 (jetway would not recognize the aircraft) and now it fully works !
Marten@Stairport
Okay great
Creator52
Yeah pretty cool that it recognizes the aircraft. Now is it possible to change the door values so the jetway fully connects to the door ? (seems possible) and if so what values should I enter ? Marten@Stairport
Yes open the corresponding xml in Resources/plugins/SAM/aircraft and modify the x value to get it closer to the fuselage.
