About This File

 

The Northwest Regional Airport Terrace-Kitimat is the main airport for Northwest British Columbia. With recent industrial activities beginning to takeoff there is a lot of traffic landing on runway 33/15. Nestled in a valley there are plenty of interesting approaches including a circle to land on runway 15 (which is really fun in larger aircraft). The airport is commercially served by Air Canada, WestJet, and Central Mountain Air to Vancouver and Prince George. However, through the ONEC Logistics Hanger/Terminal the airport also is the destination for multiple Fly in Fly out Programs served by Canadian North, Summit Air, North Cariboo Air, and Pacific Coastal. There are also no shortage of helicopter operations in the region, the NWRA has bases for Canadian Helicopters, Great Slave Helicopters, Summit Helicopters, and Quantum Helicopters. Mill's Memorial Hospital in downtown Terrace also serves as the regions main medical facility, Executive Flight Centre located on the east side of the airport services many medevac flights a week arriving from places like the Nass Valley and smaller airports located near the mines up north. There is no shortage of fun operations at the Northwest Regional Airport and with a great scenery like this, why not come give northwest British Columbia a visit!

You may encounter a message saying that X Plane could not properly load the scenery upon loading into the sim. This is bug and does not impact how the airport looks. I am currently trying to find a fix and will update the airport once one has been found. 

This scenery does use assets created by Canada4XPlane, with their permission.

You may not redistribute any of the assets you get from downloading this airport, they are property of myself and Canada4XPlane. This scenery is in no way affiliated with the Northwest Regional Airport Terrace-Kitimat, all rights reserved.

Thanks for the review, in future there will be an update hopefully adding seasons and the apron expansion that is currently taking place.

Promising project! Very excited to see where it ends up. Models are of good quality and reflect the real world counterparts very well. Good job!

Brilliant! Terminal looks great (as do the rest of the buildings), runway looks great, and sattilite imagery is included.

 

There are a few things here and there, such as lit textures, or SAM Seasons that could be improved or added respectively, but the modelling, vegetation, and the rest of the night lighting more than make up for it, and I know work on the latter is likely taking place. 

Overall this rendition of CYXT is a great regional airport to fly some private jets, GA aircraft, or even a Canadian North charter, and I would certainly recommend it to any Canadian flight sim enthusiast!
