CFM LEAP 1A Engine Mod 2.0.0

   (47 reviews)

About This File

I Present to you all the CFM LEAP 1A Engine for the FFA320, Toliss A319 and A321

Leap1AThumnail.jpg.fba31396856a33aaa0cccc368d0ec9e1.jpg

------------------------------------

Fully Animated Interior/Exterior Reverse's with Custom Particles in icing conditions and reverse thrust particle effects.

Installation of this mode is not for the faint of heart'd, if you don't have much experience with mods, please be warned.

Read Manual for more information.

Paint Kit is available as a separate download, this is only a PS Users version, if there is a requirement for others I will see what I can do.

I will advise this engine is an approximate modelling/texturing of the LEAP Engines, I in no way advise this is a like for like model of the CFM LEAP 1A engine.

Enjoy and leave a comment.

Quick Comment - IIf you are trying to do liveries make sure that you are placing the new engine texture in to the correct folder with in your livery, the directory of the livery has to match the directory of the default objects folder, if the LEAP Engines basic texture is in the objects/LEAP Engines folder in the default directory for the FFA320/Toliss319/321, you need to make sure its in there same folder name with in the livery/objects/ directory, otherwise it will not override.

This is a Visual Mod only, there is no change to performance in this mod, you will still get the same performance you would using the CFM/IAE Engines, If your using the Toliss with this mod, I would suggest making sure it is set to CFM not IAE so you will get the "N1" on the ECAM rather than the "EPR"

Previously Known Issues

1) N1 Windmilling might be little fast at times, I'm looking in to it see if anything can be done to limit that. ##FIXED in 1.1.2##

how to fix green button problem?

Green Button? If its the Green texture over all the panels in the FF etc, then its most likely because you've changed the name of the .acf has to be a320.acf or you have changed the description in the Author panel, the only part of the author panel you can change is the XP UI name, the first text box at the top, the rest will cause issues.

So I was installing the mod when I noticed that the left and right engine nacells were the same from left to right. Anyone else have this issue?

I thought it was an issue as well, but it seems it was intentional:

Also I can't help but think the engines are a bit small. When I compare screenshots with those of the PW engines from almost the same perspective, it makes more sense as the PW engines are slightly larger IRL (the fan is about 8 cm wider), but they still look quite small on their own, especially on the A321 which is where I'm using them (compared to IRL pics of the LEAP, where it looks reasonable). Meanwhile your PW size seems to be perfect. Maybe it's just me.

That is true to life. The Bump on the side is the same placement on both engines.

I have had that conversation before with some one on the A321, it looks small because the suspension of the A321 is not correct under weight it is higher off the ground giving that smaller look, than it would be in real life, if you look an the FFA320 it looks perfectly placed as the suspension is correct.

Forgive me if this is a rookie question, but does the "MANUAL" for the FFA320 contain the same parameters as the Toliss A321? I've been looking all over for a guide to installing this mod to the A321, as I have already successfully done so for the FFA320. I can't imagine the parameters in Plane Maker would be the same.

Is anyone able to confirm if its the same method, and if not then what must I do?

Press “Download this file” and select the Toliss A321. All the instructions are in there and it worked perfectly for me.

As if it was this easy... Incredible oversight on my part!

Thanks very much for your help!

Hi! I love this addon but it has an error in the a321, I don't know if it has the same error in the a320 and a319, what happens is that the engine like it lowers a bit, making it unrealistic.

Looks like you have the incorrect coordinates set up for the right engine, might want to check plane maker.

Yes, thanks, it was a coordinate error in the plane maker, the error was in the LEAP_N1_R object, it had 41.71 in the first coordinate and it should be 41.7 and in the LEAP_N1_L/R in the third coordinate it had -7.6 and it should be -6.6, I don't know why just change the coordinates I remember to set the correct coordinates, whatever problem solved thanks!

Greetings, Lemans.

@CPTE Reread the instructions carefully; looks like you messed up the coordinates in Planemaker. The mod itself installs just fine and there's no need to give a poor review just because you couldn't install it properly 🙂

I got this working on the new Neo without any issues... I think the original mod works on it with no changes (unless there are some things I didn't notice).

It works, just need to use the correct data ref for the kill data ref entry in plane maker, but there is a few issues with the particles.

Looking very good here. But somehow it doesn´t seem to be able to read "leap_n1_fast.dds" and "leap_n1_fast_nml.png".

[EDIT]

nvm, I fixed it. Mb

@cardajowol Do you have any plans to keep the old textures alive for download?  I had to update my FF A320 which means a complete refresh on all of my mods and stuff and found out all of my existing neo liveries are not working. I have over 25 Neo liveries that are now broken.  I tried using the new paint kit and put it in the same directory as the others, but it will not read and display.

they probably don't work because the mod was updated to separate textures for each engine, you can try duplicating your texture and renaming them, there is a Left and Right engine texture now.

Hello Daniel,

First thank you again for this incredible mod. After looking at the manual and the liveries you made, there is a mismatch between both. Can you confirm that the new Mod version need 2 texture files (leap_l_engine.png & leap_r_engine.png)? And not only one (leap_engine.png) as written in the manual?

Thanks.
